RECON Rings, LLC announced today their partnership with Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.)
With the launch of their new Thin Blue Line series of rings, RECON will donate a portion of all sales directly to C.O.P.S. for use in their survivor recovery programs.
Each year, between 140 and 160 officers are killed in the line of duty and their families and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss. C.O.P.S. provides resources and programs to help them rebuild their shattered lives.
A veteran owned company, RECON Rings designs and sells silicone wedding rings. Silicone rings are a popular safe alternative to metal wedding bands for individuals with active lifestyles.
When asked about the charity, RECON Rings owner Thomas Tartaglia had this to say.
“We have a lot of friends in law enforcement and seen first hand the resources that C.O.P.S. puts in place to support those who survive the tragic loss of an officer. We are honored to support their efforts going forward.”
The concept of RECON Rings started when Tom was deployed in Iraq and witnessed an accidental ring avulsion when a fellow squad member lost his finger because he was wearing a metal wedding ring. The company was called RECON for that simple patrol mission that resulted in the tragic de-gloving accident.
